HealthBarn USA Opens for Classes, 2005
Founder, Stacey Antine, MS, RDN and her team, began teaching children about nutrition by growing, harvesting and cooking with their own bounty in the midst of a growing epidemic of childhood obesity and chronic diseases in children as a result of lifestyle choices. Antine knew from her first-hand clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian, that creating an exciting, engaging hands-on educational experience was critical to help change children's habits.
2007 - 2023: HealthBarn's Healthy-Lifestyle Curricula Expands
HealthBarn's proprietary curricula has been integrated into over 50 programs for children, ages 3-15, taught in Ridgewood, schools, camps and other learning centers. HealthBarn appears on the Rachael Ray Show and other news media including CNN, NBC, Women's Health, PSB-TV for its contagiously fun, Thumbs-Up impactful work!
Appetite for Life, HarperOne is Published and Healing Meals Begins, 2012-2016
Antine wrote Appetite for Life, The Thumbs-Up, No-Yucks Guide to Getting Your Kid to Be a Great Eater, published by HarperOne with over 100 kid-approved recipes. And, Stacey created the HealthBarn Foundation's Healing Meals program to gift nutritious meals and snacks to families with ill children at hospitals in Northern New Jersey. Today, Healing Meals expanded to include families and seniors in need with over 150 community volunteers cooking and transporting to hospitals and food pantries.
2023: Culinary Creations is Available Nationwide
HealthBarn's mission to empower children and families to lead strong and energetic lives is on course to spread nationally through the Culinary Creations Programs that have schools and students coming back for more! And, more nutrition education programs are in development and will be available soon!
